Harry Callahan: A photographer in the early 1900's
He lived from 1912-1999 and spent a good portion of his life doing photography. Callahan was studying engineering in Michigan but dropped out to return to Chrysler to work and teach himself photographer. He joined the camera club, and taught himself much of the techniques he used in photography. Callahan's method was to walk around his city nearly every morning to take pictures. He took about 15 a day but in the end didn't produce more than six final photos a year. A lot of the things he photographed were in his city and included his wife and daughter.
